Biography

Mia is Care for Friends’ newest Social Support intern from Northeastern Illinois University!  They work with so many organizations around the city from Night Ministry with their youth work to National Runaway Safeline where they serve on their board from working with ONE Northside on their Mental Health Justice team for 3 years and for almost two years have been working on Bring Chicago Home to ensure that everyone has access to supportive permanent housing!

Their goal in their career is to help everyone in some way. They personally have been through a lot and the reason they chose social work is because they want to prevent what happened to them from happening to someone else. During their free time they also enjoy listening to music, singing, and spending quality time with the people in their life. Mia is originally from Skokie graduating from Niles West attended Oakton for a few years then transferred to Northeastern Illinois University where they are getting their bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
